No more relegation fight this season – Hearts PRO reveals ‘target’ to coach & players
According to the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the club, the head coach, playing body and entire stakeholders have been tasked not to get into that situation again.
Hearts of Oak have resolved not to be embroiled in any dogfight to beat relegation again.
According to the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the club, the head coach, playing body and entire stakeholders have been tasked not to get into that situation again.
The former champions finished 14th in the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League, avoiding relegation by just a point on the final day. They came from behind to beat Bechem United 3-2 away.
The club begins the 2024/25 season with a game at home against debutants Basake Holy Stars.
Speaking about the club’s plans for the upcoming season on Agoro Fie on Onua TV on Tuesday, September 3, Kwame Opare Addo, the PRO, told host Alfred Takyi Mensah that the entire playing and technical body need not be told what management expects this season.
“The issue is that we all understand that as a bigger club like Accra Hearts of Oak, you don’t even need to be told,” he said when asked what the expectations are.
“You have to know that whatever there is to fight for, you need to fight for it.
“And from the position we are coming from last season, it is very straight that the first step is that we do not have to go into that same situation again because last two years, it happened, last year it happened. It should not happen again!”
And Kwame Opare Addo insisted that coach Aboubacar Ouattara and his charges as well as everybody at the club know this pretty well.
