“Nobody can arrest me because I have not done anything wrong” – Rev. Kusi Boateng

“I will not do anything to bring shame upon you. We are in a better year, Grace has been activated, and no matter what the devil does, I know that where God wants to take us, he will.

A prominent member of the National Cathedral Board of Trustees and founder of Power Chapel in Kumasi, Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng, has denied widespread media reports of his arrest by operatives of the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) over his involvement in the embezzlement of funds meant for the National Cathedral project.

Addressing his congregation during a church service on Friday, Rev. Kusi Boateng categorically denied the claims, stating, “They say I am running away, who am I running away from? I am a law-abiding citizen. I have not stolen anything from anyone.”

“If you hear rumours of my arrest, just drink water and sleep. I am standing here before you; perhaps it’s my ghost that has been arrested,” he added.

Rev. Boateng did not mince words, calling out major media outlets for what he described as false and misleading reportage regarding his alleged arrest.

“What is this world that we are living in? Pastors are lying, church members are lying, social media is full of lies, JoyNews is lying, GhanaWeb is lying, Citi News is lying, what is this?” he lamented.

Urging his church members to remain calm, he assured them of his innocence, adding that he would never do anything to bring disgrace upon them.

“I will not do anything to bring shame upon you. We are in a better year, Grace has been activated, and no matter what the devil does, I know that where God wants to take us, he will.

“I have not done anything to warrant an arrest. Nobody can arrest me because I have not done anything for me to be arrested, and I will say this on Sunday. It doesn’t matter who you are, I don’t care who you are,” he stated.

“If you know where we are coming from and where God has brought us now, we are not afraid about what someone will say about us or arrest us, for the rest, no one can change our destiny.”
