NPP Chairmanship race: Ayikoi Otoo’s last-minute withdrawal won’t affect position of other candidates – Nimako

“Balloting was done before Ayikoi Otoo decided to withdraw. After the balloting, the candidates picked various positions and they started campaigning with them. Those who picked 3 said they were working with the holy trinity, those who picked 8 said they were the ones with the power to break the 8 and so on. So on the day of elections, we will use something to black the number 6 position of Ayikoi Otoo.

The Director of Elections for the governing NPP, Evans Nimako says the last-minute withdrawal of Ayikoi Otoo from the NPP Chairmanship race won’t affect the positions of other candidates on the ballot paper.

According to him, the withdrawal of Ayikoi Otoo came after the candidates had already balloted for their slots on the ballot paper. This he believes when altered to reflect the withdrawal of the former Attorney General under the Kufour administration will affect the campaign slogans of some of the candidates.

This is the instruction given to the printers. In this case, it won’t affect the position or slot of the other candidates who have already begun their campaign with their positions on the ballot paper,” he told the Morning Show Host of Kumasi-based Oyerepa TV, Kwesi Parker-Wilson.

Mr Nimako also observed that Lawyer Ayikoo Otoo did not throw his support for any of the candidates in the race.
