NPP govt has failed the youth – Aspiring Deputy National Youth Organizer
In a statement he issued on Monday August 22, he said “It is very hard to be accepted that this Government who promised them with good incentive and stipend has neglected or left them in the midst of desert where there is no water to quench their thirst.
An aspiring Deputy National Youth Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Obed Opintan, has accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration of failing the youth of this country.
In is view, all the youth centered programmes introduced by the government have failed to yield positive results.
In a statement he issued on Monday August 22, he said “It is very hard to be accepted that this Government who promised them with good incentive and stipend has neglected or left them in the midst of desert where there is no water to quench their thirst.
“Over the years it has been observed under this current government that, they always brings out initiatives but fails to put proper measures to sustain their own policy that aim to help the ordinary Ghanaian.”
Below is his fill statement…
The Nation Builders Corps (NaBCo) it was initiated to address graduate unemployment in Ghana.
The programme was launched by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on May 1, 2018.
The scheme employed 100,000 graduates who were not employed under Akufo Addo regime but it is unfortunate that this policy or scheme has come to do more harm than good to the ordinary graduate.
It’s very hard to be accepted that this Government who promised them with good incentive and stipend has neglected or left them in the midst of desert where there is no water to quench their thirst.
Over the years it has been observed under this current government that, they always brings out initiatives but fails to put proper measures to sustain their own policy that aim to help the ordinary Ghanaian.
There have been several instances voicing out their grievances to the government to pay their 10 months stipends. The NABCO National President and the General Secretary have complaining and appealing to the government that “some of them had to take loans to survive and lenders are on their neck to pay back, and since government has not paid, they are unable to pay back their debt.
Akuffo Addo and Dr. Bawumia led administration promised them a permanent job but what we see today, they’ve been kicked out from the scene and used them for their political and election gain as well.
They have demonstrated so many times and with several press conferences to register their grievances or complaints to the Government but have turned in vain.
Some NABCO trainees are struggling to make a living with a daily square meal. Government must turn to them and pay their unsettled allowances for almost 10 months.
Some trainees have been asked to leave their post as it was directed but their allowances have not been paid. The question is , why since the beginning of the 2022, they have not been paid.
Should we accept that this government have used them and have no proper measures in place to recognize the plight of the NABCO Trainees.
As we speak, some have become a burden on their parents and family as well. There are no hope for them in their respective life.
How do the government expect them to make a living. This shows the government came in to make fun and toss our youth for his political gain.
There was a meeting led by Dr. Bawumia and Chief of Staff, Akosua Fremah Osei – Opare and other Stakeholders to give the NABCO a permanent employment but as it stands now they have been directed to leave post whiles owning them for almost 10 months allowances.
This government has no vision and hope for the NABCO trainees but just came to lure them for their personal and political gain. As we speak the Government has not show any commitment to employ them.
Why would he the President continue receiving their annually payment whiles people who accepted to work and receive just 700 hundred Cedis as a stipends or allowances are now regretting for their own decisions they took to be enrolled as NABCO Trainees.
“Y3te Sika so, nso 3kom de y3n “ and again also we have own resources and proud nation but our own youths are struggling to make a living mean while we are experiencing hardship in this country.
