NPP Looking For Sympathy With Coup Plot-Jibril

A former deputy national organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Mahdi Jibril is suggesting that Ghana is gradually moving back to the dark days of the culture of silence.

He argued that the way and manner in which the government was handling the alleged coup plot exposes the current Nana Addo led administration of witch-hunt.

Mahdi Jibril says the government wants to win the sympathy of Ghanaians hence picking and arresting people and accusing them of plotting a coup against the nation.

Mr. Jibril admonished Ghanaians to be cautious over what they communicate with friends especially on social media.

Ghana’s Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) is holding a top police officer Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Dr Benjamin Agordzo, for allegedly plotting with others to overthrow the government.

Dr. Agordzor, according to his lawyer, was accused of assisting the alleged leader of the coup plotters, Dr. Frederick Yao Mac-Palm, through messages he sent on an instant messaging platform, WhatsApp, the report added.
