NPP Parl. Primaries: Delegates in Bosome Freho root for Joyce Akoh Dei
Ahead of the Parliamentary primaries of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) scheduled for April 25, 2020 delegates of the NPP in the Bosome Freho Constituency in the Ashanti Region has thrown their support to the seating Member of Parliament for the area Joyce Adwoa Akoh Dei.
According to the women dominating group, they took the decision after examining the activities of the current Member of Parliament and her commitment to the development of the Constituency; especially, her work over the last three years in office.
Speaking to Ghananewsonline.com.gh, one of the delegates (name withheld) applauded Joyce Adwoa Akoh Dei for her numerous achievements in her first term as compared to successive MPs of the area.
“In just three years of our workaholic MP, two communities in this Constituency can boast of a fully furnished ultramodern community centers funded with her share of the common fund, this projects are visible and can be seen in Abusamso, Asamama. Similar projects are also ongoing in communities like Damucus, Amomorso, Fereso, Nsutem, Brofoyedru, Anyaaso which are at various stages of completion.
“Due to her excellent lobbing skills, we have received a contract approval for the construction of the Asiwa to Nsuem No2 road network, a feeder road which was left to it’s fate over the years is expecting contractors on site to commence the construction in few weeks. As part of her efforts to see the Constituency boast of good roads has again made the drawings and has lobbied for the construction of a three cocoa roads in the Nsutor new Adubiasi area of Bosome freho which is in the approval stage, Ankaase to Ampaha tarred road as designed has also been signed awaiting construction. She has also extended electricity to about 34 communities,” they stated.
As part of her priorities to empower and equip the young and vulnerable adults in her Constituency is set to established the Nyamebekyre Training center for girls and boys who want to enroll in fashion designing and dress making as well as 10 motorbikes to the needy.
In the area of education, Obaatanpa as she is popularly known in the Constituency has lobbied for a 12 unit classroom block which has been constructed at Asiwa Senior High School and a boys and girls dormitory also in the Asiwa Senior High School is being built, she has again lobbied for 6 units classroom block for Nsuem No2 JHS which has also been built by GETfund. She is about to construct a four bedroom apartment for teachers in Kwame Ntow which will be furnished with kitchen and all necessary requirements to make a complete apartment and a construction of a 2 units KG block with store room and a water closet.
The delegates who were chanting “4 more for Obaatanpa to do more” noted that the Constituency through the Member of Parliament has also benefited from the Ministry of Special Initiate a 3 separate 10 seater toilet facilities, 3 mechanized Boreholes in various area’s of the Constituency. Tebeso No1 is also yet to receive their share of the national cake as 12 seater toilet facility is under construction in the community.
Again, it was gathered that the President through the Ministry of Special Initiative selected Asiwa, a community in the Constituency to benefit from the President’s special initiative on providing a market space to some 50 communities across the country, the community can now boast of 74 market spaces.
