On 17th February, 2020, Ms. Sheila Bartels, an Aspiring Parliamentary candidate on the ticket of the Ablekuma North NPP successfully filed her nomination forms to contest.
This occasion which was characterised by much fanfare was witnessed by over two hundred supporters and sympathisers of the NPP in the constituency as they turned up in their numbers to support Sheila in filing her nomination. Sheila Bartels is contesting to be the NPP parliamentary candidate in the 2020 general elections.
The filing which was preceded by a mini float was given a boost by the presence of known party stalwarts and dignitaries such as Hon. Edmond Lomo, Presiding member for the Ablekuma North Municipal Assembly, Mr. Charles Kodom, a former constituency Chairman and Hon. Joyce Acheampong, former constituency women’s organizer among other dignitaries.
The completed nomination forms were received by the constituency chairman, Mr. George Nkrumah and the constituency secretary, Mr. Samuel Larbi at the constituency party office in Kwashieman.
Addressing her supporters after the filing, Sheila thanked all those present and promised to do anything that was necessary, not only to win the mandate of the delegates but to also restore the fallen hopes of many of them. Her message which was one of unity, promised to bring an end to the factionalism and despondency which had become the new normal for the constituency party.
