NPP Parl. Primaries: Tension in Ayawaso Central as Minister orders Arrest of NPP Youth Organizer

The Deputy Minister for the Interior, Henry Quartey, who is also the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Ayawaso Central Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, has ordered for the arrest of Moses Abor – the Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Greater Accra Region.

Subsequently, Abor was arrested last Friday evening.

It is alleged that the Regional Youth Organizer has for some time now not been in good terms with the.

Ghananewsonline.com.gh has gathered that Moses Abor is allegedly funding some candidates to contest the Deputy Minister in the upcoming parliamentary primaries, a development the deputy Minister is not happy with.

In a show of power, the MP to teach his fellow party member some lessons, allegedly ordered one ASP John Danso of the Greater Accra Police command to arrest Moses Abor and detain him.

It took the intervention of some party gurus and Executives in the Ayawaso Central Constituency to get Abor released from police custody.

Meanwhile, this portal can confirm that all is not well with the camp of the Deputy Minister/MP as tensions are heightened in the constituency between him and some of his constituency executives.

This Portal has further gathered that Henry Quartey is intended to use every means possible to win the primaries hence even if he has to bend laid down party regulations a bit to favour him.

It is alleged also that Quartey is determined to physically crash any party executive who supports another candidate apart from himself in the upcoming NPP parliamentary primaries in the area.

Moses Abor has since been granted bail but is expected to report to the regional police command on Monday.
