Hon Emmanuel Kwesi Bedzrah, Chairman of the Volta Parliamentary Caucus and MP for Ho West, has accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and its presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, of using a “rented crowd” during his recent campaign tour in the Volta Region.

In an interview with ExpressNewsGhana on October 29, 2024, Bedzrah claimed that individuals were transported in buses to create the illusion of large turnouts at NPP rallies.

According to him, the people of the Volta Region are determined to reject a “failed government” and are poised to bring back the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and former President John Mahama.

He criticized Dr. Bawumia’s performance as Vice President, labelling him as incompetent and suggesting that he lacks the capability to govern effectively.

“Like all Ghanaians, the people of Volta will not support a failed administration,” Bedzrah asserted.

He highlighted that the same faces appeared at multiple campaign stops, indicating a lack of genuine local support. “He would talk to chiefs in one constituency, then ask those same individuals to move to the next rally,” Bedzrah explained.

He dismissed Bawumia’s campaign efforts as mere “gymnastics” and “jokes,” stating that the public will ultimately decide on December 7, and the NPP’s hopes for victory are unfounded.

“The people of Volta are ready to vote against this corrupt and malfunctioning administration of Nana Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia,” he said.

Bedzrah further criticized the NPP’s governance, arguing that it has led the country into a “ditch” and that only Mahama can restore progress.

“Bawumia and Akufo-Addo are clueless about governance. The people of the Volta Region are prepared to remove them from office at the earliest opportunity,” he added.

As the election approaches, tensions between the NPP and NDC continue to escalate, with both parties vying for the support of voters in the crucial Volta Region.
