NPP Women want President Akufo-Addo to sack Gender Minister Cynthia Morrison

Some women believed to be caterers under the Ghana School Feeding Program (GSFP) stormed the private residence of President Nana Akufo-Addo at Nima, to demand payments for work done as well as the dismissal of the Gender Minister Cynthia Morisson, who doubles as the Honourable Member of Parliament (MP) for the Agona West constituency. They claimed the Minister has disgraced the President Akufo-Addo due to her incompetence and lack of leadership skills in managing such a sensitive ministry.

They are also demanding payment of over a year’s arrears owed them by their own NPP government that “they labored and toiled to bring into power”.

In an interview with Kofi TV, the the NPP Women organizers chastised the Minister of Gender and Social Protection, Madam Cynthia Morrison for “sitting on their money for a year and half”. They described her as an insensitive, wicked, heartless woman who is depriving her fellow women of what is due them.

They further stated that, it is as a result of the fact that the Minister didn’t go through the grassroots stages of the party before occupying her current office and that is why she is not appreciating the sacrifices these women organizers are making for their party and allowing their creditors to chase, disgrace and embarrass them in their homes.

“Madam Cynthia Morrison has been in the news for a while now for all the bad reasons. We are not surprised to hear her own people are giving her out now,” stated one of the leaders of the group who wants to remain anonymous.

Some residents of her constituency have also expressed worry over her selfish, selective and arrogant posture, claiming they are looking forward to voting her out of office in the December 2020 elections.
