“I feel very bad for the state we find ourselves in because some NSS officials keep making profit out of our national service allowances”.

Asked of the basis for his allegation, Bedzra said”.. How can we work from September till December, and receive only October pay? Funds were approved and allocations were made to the authority before we commenced our one-year mandatory service. Officials of the scheme have left most questions unanswered but i just want to know, where are allowances for both September and November? Officials of the scheme have chosen to starve us and invest our allowances for personal gains, before releasing our parts to us.

“What they do is that, most of the district officers sit together, plan and take charge of the district accounts, then invest our allowance meant us, for some months. After it generates some targeted amounts for them, they then withdraw part of the investment and pay to us while they continue to make profit out of the rest. They then pay in bits and pieces and turn to falsely accuse some national service personnel of delay in the submission of their evaluation forms and delayed system of input and other stuffs. This evil act is so annoying and I will continue to expose them,” he said.

He charged the government to take measures to curb this situation and bring persons found culpable to book.

Oscar Bedzra extended his well wishes to national service personnel, and urged them to give off their best, despite the development .
