2022 HWPL Peace Educator Empowerment Training Spreads Peace throughout Africa
HWPL started its peace education initiative in December 2015 and has signed total of 14 MOAs in 10 countries and total of 228 MOUs in 36 countries of Ministries of Education and schools, implementing peace education worldwide. (As of December 31, 2021)
In Africa, among the threats of conflict between the 2,000 diverse ethnicities and tribes, educators in Africa are appreciating the need for peace education that can instill essentialness of peace into people’s heart.
The Africa team from the Southern Seoul & Gyeonggi Branch of Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) will conduct the “HWPL Peace Educator Empowerment Training” every Saturday from April 9th to May 28th, 2022, 8 weeks in total, targeting the one who is a member of an organization and can conduct the peace education. This program is being held to train leaders who can teach the values of peace and co-existence to youth that are exposed to conflict, discrimination, poverty and violence, and to help youth to grow as peaceful citizens.

Last year in 2021, after several discussions between the HWPL Africa team and African NGOs, academic institutions, media, etc., to establish a practical initiative for peace. They concluded to conduct the program called “HWPL Peace Educator Empowerment Training” to nurture peace educators
Through this program, a total of 235 participants graduated last year. while 115 of them were officially appointed as HWPL Peace Educators. With this, 101 sessions of peace education were conducted in 49 organizations and institutions. In Nigeria, HWPL peace education reached out to as many as 13 states (out of the 37 states).
Surprised to discover the positive changes in the students’ values, Abubakar George Ben, a coordinator of Foundation for Integrated and Strategic Development (FISTRAD) in Ghana, said “World peace is needed now. We look forward to applying the learning to promote peace in our school. Our Headmaster and teachers also need to be taught about HWPL peace education.” Subsequently, he requested to rerun the “HWPL Peace Educator Empowerment Training” this year.
Any member of an organization (e.g. NGOs, education institutions, media, youth organizations, religious organizations), who are willing to implement peace education to the public, recommended by his or her representative can apply for the upcoming “2022 HWPL Peace Educator Empowerment Training” from 14th of March to 2nd of April.
