Occupy Ghana mounts pressure on gov’t to distribute parked ambulances

Political Pressure Group, “Occupy Ghana” has petitioned government to distribute ambulances procured from overseas and parked at the forecourt of the State House in Accra, so that they do not deteriorate.

A member of the Group, Koku Segbefia, told George Asekere on GBC’s ‘Current Affairs Programme, ‘Behind the News’, that it is untenable for these ambulances to be parked for almost two months while emergency medical cases occur daily with its accompanying loss of lives.

The Minority in Parliament has meanwhile denounced excuses by government that the parked ambulances lack tracking devices and trained paramedics to handle them.

The Ranking Member on the Health Committee, Kwabena Mintah-Akandoh wondered how long the ambulances will remain parked while people continue to lose their lives.
