Information Ghananewsonline.con.gh indicates that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for the La Dadekotopon Constituency, Vincent Odotei Sowah, has threatened to go independent if he loses the party’s parliamentary primaries.
Deep throat sources within the party in the constituency have disclosed to us that the MP intends to contest as independent candidate if the New Patriotic Party, NPP, delegates in La Constituency fail to retain him as Parliamentary Candidate for his second term.
Odotei Sowah a.k.a Obama, snatched the Parliamentary seat from Nii Amasah Namoale in 2016 elections with about 40,000 votes representing 50.58 percent while Namoale got 38,504 votes representing 48.54 percent.
Prior to the 2016 general elections, Odotei Sowah campaigned that when elected as the next MP he would mobilize public spirited persons to help transform the La Dadekotopon Constituency massively irrespective of who the President might be.
“Ghana needs a new crop of professionals with vast experience and a good track record and are committed and ready to add value to change the face of politics in the Constituency,” he stated on one of his campaign platforms.
Many people in the constituents believe that the MP has heavily failed the people of La DadeKotopon if his campaign promises of development and supporting the youth with employment among many other things are anything to go by.
Our source alleged that Odotei Sowah who is also the Deputy Minister for Communication has rather neglected the constituents especially the youth who supported him to win the Parliamentary seat.
“The Deputy Minister is also not playing his role well as expected of a Member of Parliament for the area, rather, he is concentrating on his ministerial post and his private business. The MP has suddenly become inaccessible and unpopular in the Constituency for which reason the NPP delegates have decided to punish him by voting him out,” he gathered.
Ghananewsonline.com.gh further gathered that Odotei’s main contender in the 2015 NPP primaries and a financier of the party in the La Dadekotopon Constituency, Oscar Nii Odoi Glover will contest him again. Another name circulating in the Constituency is a Ghanaian business tycoon, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of McDan Group of Companies, Daniel McKorley who is also likely to contest the NPP primaries.
