Okada Business Booms At Juaboso 

Commuter in Juaboso and Bodi Townships, and their environs are enjoying a new wave of transportation via the “Okada/Prajia Transport system” currently introduced there.

Mr. Adasah-Nkrumah, Chairman for the Juaboso Okada/Prajia Union Association maintains that barely three months of Operation under his chairmanship, the Union has registered over 130 cars and, are enjoying high patronage.

This, he indicates, has brought a lot of relief to commuters because of the low rate they charge commuters as against high ones which were hithere  changed by Taxi Drivers.

In an interview with this paper, Mr. Adasah-Nkrumah stated that with their mandate  of playing within a mileage of not more than five (5) kilometers, their  cars charge Gh¢1.00, as well as within township rides. This, he noted, had attracted a large cliental as passengers de not only need their services but also clamour for them because of the  kind of mentorous  services they offer their customers. He said that besides township rides they also ply routs like Juboso to Antobia, Datano, Afere Nkwanta, among others.

Corroborating to this, Mr. Jones Atta Panyin of Afere stated that initially when the system was introduced, it met the resistance of Taxi  dirvers, who felt that he driving business was their sole business and monopoly .

However standing to the intimidation of these taxi drivers, they were able to secure a station and driving parking lots for them. To him the Prajia business has come to stay and any government that tries to band it will be unpopular at once.

Moderate, Convenient, Meritorious

According to Mr. Adasah – Nkrumah the Priajia business has come this far because of the moderate fares, they charge and the convenient and mentorious  services rendered their clients. He indicated that drivers send customers to their preferred destinations. Also because they are registered with and recognized by the Juaboso District Assembly to which the  pay taxes by way of stickers and others, they are equally recognized by the general public.

We  behaved drivers

The chairman indicated that drivers are well behaved and return any left over load to the association for onward transmission to their rightful owners. He stated that on Sunday, the seven members committee chaged with effective running of the Union meet to deliberate on the forward march of the Association.

He mentioned that because of its high patronage Prajia play  major role in adjourning districts as Bodi, Wiawso, Juaboso, Dadieso and their townships including Bonsu Nkwanta, Asawinso and Dadieso
