Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central, Isaac Adongo, has shot a salvo at the running mate to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, saying his campaign messages have always been out of touch.

According to him, Dr. Opoku Prempeh, also known as NAPO, has not brought a single policy since he was unveiled, but has resorted to fighting causes which are not beneficial to the progress of Ghana.

Mr. Adongo was addressing party executives, supporters and sympathizers after filling his nomination forms Tuesday, September 10, 2024.

He bemoaned NAPO for failing to tell Ghanaians what he can do for them rather than attacking dead people.

“For those of you who have heard the NPP make a lot of noise, those of you who speak Twi, I want this message to go directly to my brother Napo. You hear what I said? One rally, one bomb. Tell the people what you can do for them.

“You are fighting against dead people. You are fighting against your own selves. And you have so far not delivered any policy message,” he stated.

The Ranking Member on the Finance Committee of Parliament told the gathering that the NDC government is going to introduce the 24-hour economy to provide jobs for the unemployed youth.

“24-hour economy is coming. And whether they like it or not, it will come,” he maintained.

Talking about his plan for campaigning in the constituency, he asked the party supporters not to worry about it being delayed since strategies have been mapped out to execute it.

“We will have a series of engagements with our constituency executives, we will engage our ward coordinators to understand what is happening in their various wards, we will engage our party elders and our traders front to appreciate what we need to do to continue doing this.

“And we will come to the branches and meet all our branch executives and hear from them. It is after this that our national elders will form a campaign team for us that we will bring to you to begin our campaign.

“So, for those of you who are saying that you have heard our opponents, we are aware and we understand the campaign, the campaign has a roadmap and we will follow it to ensure that everybody is brought on board.

He rejected the claim that he is a weak link in the constituency despite being an MP in opposition.

“But I want to assure you that yes, I am an opposition MP, I do not have the resources they claim to have, but nobody is doubting that Isaac Adongo is a weak link in Bolgatanga Central. It is never going to happen.

“And that if their aim is to bring money for their candidate, they will be eating their candidate’s pension in this election. And that in this election, we will come very prepared, not just to win the presidency but to increase our votes and our numbers in the Bolgatanga Central,” he assured.
