Oquaye Launches Manifesto For Dome- Kwabenya

Aspiring Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Michael Aaron Oquaye Jnr, has unveiled his comprehensive manifesto, outlining key focus areas for the constituency’s development.

In his address, Mr. Oquaye Jnr outlined his vision for the constituency, built around five pillars: education, infrastructure, health, security, and employment.

Speaking at the well-attended event, he explained that his focus on education policy will be on infrastructure development, teacher training, and student empowerment.

He plans to modernise school infrastructure, complete the Abokobi Senior High School, and establish new Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions.

Mr. Oquaye Jnr noted that his healthcare policy focuses on upgrading existing facilities, enhancing personnel quarters, and promoting community health initiatives.

He aims to upgrade the Abokobi Health Centre into a full-fledged polyclinic, construct dedicated quarters for doctors and nurses, and enhance security at the health centre.

Oquaye Jnr’s sanitation policy prioritises clean water access and waste management.

He plans to implement borehole projects, enhance sanitation through the ‘Toilet for All’ project and donate water pumps.

Mr. Oquaye Jnr’s infrastructure policy focuses on upgrading road networks, promoting industrial growth, and developing market facilities.

He aims to upgrade and maintain roads, promote industrial growth through the One District One Factory (1D1F) initiative, and develop and expand market facilities.

Mr. Oquaye Jnr’s security policy prioritises community safety and development.

He plans to construct fire service stations, increase police presence, and install streetlights.

He noted that his empowerment policy will focus on creating job opportunities, supporting women entrepreneurs, and promoting vocational training.

He aims to expand job opportunities through the Youth Employment Agency, support women-led businesses through the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC), and promote vocational training.

Mr. Oquaye Jnr’s agriculture policy supports small-scale farmers and poultry farmers through government initiatives.

On sports, he explained that his policy focuses on developing recreational facilities and promoting sports development programmes.

He emphasised the need for unity and hard work within the party, urging supporters to put aside differences and work towards a common goal.

He also expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve as the parliamentary candidate, and pledged to work tirelessly for the constituency.

Mike Oquaye Jnr also criticised the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), emphasising the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) achievements and the need for continuity.

He urged supporters to vote for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and himself, promising a “brand-new presidency” and a “tear rubber MP.”

The launch event, held at Dome Park, drew attendance from prominent figures, including Mrs. Alma Naa Jama Opoku Prempeh, wife of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the NPP running mate, National Executives, and stakeholders.

Mrs. Opoku Prempeh, who was the guest of honour at the event, urged the party members to embark on house to house campaign and preach the policies of the ruling party, led by Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to the electorates, to vote for the NPP on December 7.
