A Deputy National Youth Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Osman Ayariga, has characterized the Deputy Director of Communications of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Ernest Owusu Bempah, as a person suffering from “mental disorder” and “mad.”

This was in response to a press conference by the pro-government group – “Fixing the Country” movement, on Sunday August 11, 2024, which had labeled NDC flagbearer John Dramani Mahama as corrupt.

Mincing no words, Mr. Ayariga said the “antidote” to Owusu Bempah’s problem could be found in the NDC’s 2020 manifesto, which seeks to improve mental health facilities “for people like him.”

“The antidote to Owusu Bempah’s problem could be found in the NDC’S 2020 manifesto at page 64 point T where the party seeks to improve all mental health facilities for people like him”

Mr. Ayariga intimated that there were several other investigative agencies that looked into the Airbus SE scandal before OSP arrived at the decision that Mahama did no wrong, “So, we thought Owusu Bempah would be sane enough to let sleeping dogs lie but then he decided to exhibit certain tendencies of insanity,” he told Metro TV News Anchor.

The NDC Deputy National Youth Organizer also accused Owusu Bempah of being “seriously obsessed about the former president John Dramani Mahama” while stating bluntly that “Absolutely yes, absolutely, he’s mad, I’m not mincing words on this” when the news anchor tried to draw his attention that it is only a qualified medical practitioner who can declare a person mentally ill.

The NDC youth leader went on to threaten that after the January 7 2025, while some of the appointees of this government are being matched to the Nsawam Prison, the likes of Owusu Bempah, he said would be “matched to the “Pantan Psychiatric Mental hospital.”

While acknowledged that he is not a health expert, Ayariga insisted Owusu Bempah’s behavior is a “testament of someone who is mentally ill.”

“In health terms, what he’s suffering is called obsessive compulsive disorder and that’s mental illness, I believe that’s what he’s suffering from”

“After 7th January 2025, when we are matching some of the NPP appointees to Nsawam prison, the likes of Owusu Bempah would be matched to Pantan Mental hospital”

I believe that his issue has gone beyond normal, the NDC Deputy National Youth Organizer concluded
