PAC begins zone 4 public hearing in Takoradi

During the hearing, the Ekumfi district assembly was accused for spending more than what it was required to spend on workshops leaving some four (4) projects uncompleted.

The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has began the Zone four (4) Public Hearing in Takoradi, Western Region.

This hearing will cover Technical Universities, Colleges of Education, Pre-Universities and all Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) cited in the 2022 Auditor-General’s Report within the Central and Western Regions.

The Committee chaired by Hon. James Klutse-Avedzi, Hon. Samuel Atta-Mills as Vice Chairman and Hon. Kofi Okyere Agyekum as the Ranking Member and the Members of the Committee today considered the Report on the Public Accounts of Ghana – Technical Universities for the period ended 31st December, 2022 and Public Accounts of Ghana – Pre-University Educational Institutions for the year ended 31st December, 2022.

Appearing before the Committee to answer queries cited against them were Cape Coast Technical University, Accra Technical University, Takoradi Technical University, Holy Child College of Education, Fosu College of Education, Komenda College of Education and Ola College of Education.

Other Senior High Schools that also appeared before the Committee were Benso SHS, Bompeh SHS, Essiama SHS, Nkroful Agric SHS, NMTC Takoradi, and Shama SHS.

During the hearing, the Ekumfi district assembly was accused for spending more than what it was required to spend on workshops leaving some four (4) projects uncompleted.

Meanwhile the assembly argued that despite spending more on workshops, it has completed two of the projects.
