The mining companies, including God Made Mining Enterprise, Great Shepherd Mining Enterprise, Better Shepherd Mining Enterprise, and others, claim that between 2019 and 2023, they received approval from the Minerals Commission and the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources to mine on the land.

However, before their mining license could be finalized, the defendants allegedly began mining without permission.

The plaintiffs are seeking damages of 90 million Ghana cedis for the gold that was allegedly mined from their land. They are also requesting 20 million Ghana cedis in general damages, an order for the defendants to restore the damaged land, and a permanent injunction to stop any further interference with their mining activities.

A related case is already in court, where the Omanhene and others are facing similar accusations from Kadesh Mining.

The Kumasi High Court will rule on 28 October on whether the case will proceed.
