Parents Urged To Identify, Harness Talents Of Their Children

He said, unlike the whites who develop an interest in the talents of their children at the early stages of their lives and harness them, the African parent cares little about the talents of their children, even if they identify them, and leaves them to their fate.

It is a bare truth that every child is born into this world with special gifts, and this varies from one child to another, no matter how close they are.

Research has also shown that even twins born at the same time have varying gifts, except in a few cases where such children may have similar traits of talents.

But in most cases, these talents are made to go waste, and this according to the minister in charge of the Christ Faith Church at Gomoa Ekwamkrom in the Central Region Rev. Daniel Kojo Ewudzi, is because the majority of parents are not able to identify the talents of their children and harness them to their benefit.

He said, unlike the whites who develop an interest in the talents of their children at the early stages of their lives and harness them, the African parent cares little about the talents of their children, even if they identify them, and leaves them to their fate.

He said this situation has left many children to become wayward because they could not use their God-given talent to their benefit and to that of society as a whole.

He has therefore urged parents to take a keen interest in the talents of their children and help them develop them.

He has also called on the government to resource the technical and vocational institutions in the country to help train more children in technical and vocational skills.

He said as part of efforts to harness such potentials, his church is organizing a Fund Raising service on the 9th of October this year to support some youth of the church who are gifted with special talents, and is therefore appealing to benevolent individuals and organizations to come and support the course to help the children harness their talents.
