Pastor Evelyn Joshua and SCOAN Team Donates to Elders and Witches Camp in Ghana

Leader of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Pastor Evelyn Joshua and the Emmanuel TV partners in Ghana on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, distributed bags of rice, gari and maize to 80 elderly persons at the Naminyila community within the West Mamprusi District of the North East Region.

In addition to the food items, the team also donated waxprints to the very old persons in the Naminyila community.

Similarly, on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, the SCOAN Team also donated bags of rice and gari to the alleged witches and wizards at the Gnani camp in the Yendi Municipality of the Northern Region.

During the visit the team also presented an undisclosed cash to a female inmate of the Gnani witch camp who sustained eye injury as a result of beating by relatives on suspicion of being a witch.

At least 221 victims of witchcraft accusations comprising 88 males and 141 females in the Ghani witches camp benefited from Pastor Evelyn Joshua and the SCOAN charity donation.

The donation to the Naminyila Elderly was on the theme: “Look for your Elderly ones and Care for them,” while the presentation to the Gnani Witch Camp was also on the theme, “Reaching Out to the Marginalised in Society.”

Lawyer John Ajet-Nasam who led the Emmanuel TV partners in Ghana said the move is a continuing with the legacy of the late Prophet TB Joshua’s foundation of giving.

According to him, the church actually began with the giving ministry during the lifetime of TB Joshua, who said “See your giving is an assignment from God, because your greatness depends on your giving, giving with all your heart to the poor, the widows, the widowers, the orphans, the less privileged, the elderly and the physically challenged.”

“We the members of Emmanuel TV Partners on behalf of the woman of God, Mrs. Evelyn Joshua had a wonderful time with the elderly men and women who have been either neglected or wrongly accused by members of their communities of being witches or wizards.

“We visited the Naminyila Community in Mamprusin West and Gnani in Yendi Municipality. We gave these elderly bags of rice, gari, Maize, waxprints and cash gift for a woman who sustained eye injury due to brutality by her community. They heartily thanked the woman of God and Emmanuel TV partners for the gifts and we assured them we shall continue to do the same so far there is an opportunity, “Lawyer Ajet-Nasam said.

Mr. Tindan Shay, the Chief and Caretaker of the Gnani  Camp who received the SCOAN and the Emmanuel TV Team bemoaned the situation which the alleged witches and wizards have been going through and appealed for more support from benevolent groups and individuals.

He said the inmates in the camp currently survive on donations mostly from Churches and NGOs like Action Aid Ghana, among others, stressing that, they are in urgent need of merchandised boreholes for water as the inmates are old and weak to use the Hand pump borehole currently being used.

Pastor Joseph Shay, a brother to the Chief recounted how some of the victims who came to the camp were beaten by their relatives and thrown out of their homes.

One woman whose left eye had been damaged due to beating by relatives on suspicion of being witch was given money by the Emmanuel TV team as a gift from Pastor Evelyn Joshua to seek medical care or buy drugs.

Another inmate recounted how he was dragged to the cemetery and brutally assaulted and left to die, but he then moved to the camp after he regained consciousness.

When the Team asked the inmates whether they would like to reunite with their families and communities, they turned down the suggestion, pointing out that they are likely to suffer more beating should they go back.

The elderly of the Naminyila community and the inmates of Gnani at the separate occasions expressed their respective gratitude to Pastor Evelyn Joshua and SCOAN Emmanuel TV partners for the support and appealed to the team to come back again to assist them.

Asides from his prophetic, deliverance and healing ministry, Joshua was known for philanthropism, helping victims of floods, earthquakes and similar disasters around the world.
