Watching Paul ADOM Otchere on Metro TV’s Good Evening Ghana on Thursday night further exposed the fact there are so many charlatans parading as journalists and media experts. What we have today on parts of the media front is a mockery. That is why a lot of people have the belief that the media today is for the highest political bidder instead of a responsible watchdog for the dissemination of responsible news and information.
The Good Evening Ghana programme used to be a good programme for right-thinking members of society. Important personalities with quality and facts used to educate people on the show until it started to lose direction and meaning, thanks to Paul realizing that he could hijack the programme and sell it to the highest bidder.
We have watched and monitored the programme these days and realized that Paul is trying hard to use it as a media tool for the ruling NPP government and all his paymasters. His display of personal hatred and vitriol was witnessed on Thursday night when he tried to bring in the issue of Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, MP for Klotey Korle and other issues relating to her family.
We know he is a Board Member of the National Communication Authority (NCA) and we wonder why the President will tolerate such a character on an institution as important as the NCA. We are not surprised at his growing recklessness, biases, propaganda, lies and naked attacks on individuals and personalities especially the Rawlings family.
You failed with your biased one-sided shallow documentary on our hero, former President Rawlings and we thought you would have learnt great lessons from it but no, it’s got into your head and now you feel you are untouchable.
Dr. Zanetor Rawlings only repeated the frustrations expressed by many Ghanaians on the issue of food being shared on partisan lines in several areas. Indeed, there is a lot of video evidence of complaints by poor, vulnerable people who feel sidelined because of their perceived political alliances. She openly and rightly called for investigations and accountability on the claims that GHC 2 million was used to prepare the said food in a day, yet many people couldn’t access the food either because they were not card bearing members of NPP or the food wasn’t enough for all. This singular act alone should get all Ghanaians outraged and not the likes of Paul Odom Otchere to come and justify that wickedness.
How on earth could this simple act of patriotism in calling for investigations and accountability warrant such needless attacks on Dr. Zanetor Rawlings?
Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings in her statement referred readers to the internet to watch the floating videos by Ghanaweb and other media outlets and to confirm what she said. Did Paul do that before going to the studio? Or he thinks Ghanaians do know what is going on and he is the one to tell Ghanaians what is true or false!?
If Paul Odom Otchere thinks he has issues with the Rawlingses he should bring it on but we are assuring him, he will be the loser and our advice to him is that he shouldn’t start what he can’t end because we are ever ready for battle. He shouldn’t let us use elephant’s bullets for a rabbit.
We are ready to defend Dr. Zanetor and nobody should just think she is alone.
Paul’s godfathers like Archbishop Nicholas Duncan Williams and Zoomlion’s Joseph Siaw Agyepong better hold him in check. Agyepong after buying Metro TV has left it in the hands of moribund characters like Paul who are mismanaging the station and using their programme slots for cheap prostitution. Staff at Metro TV are not being paid and many have quit out of frustration at the modern day slavery. Instead of applying his energies into ensuring the right thing is done at the station he is busy selling his birthright for kooko and koose!
The other day when Duncan Williams peached against the collapse of banks by the NPP government, Paul his lackey, quickly rushed to his programme and rather insinuated that the preacher was referring to the Rawlings era. What utter rubbish.
Paul’s advisors better warn him. We are in very difficult times. If he’s had his fill of fleecing his paymasters he better watch it because his calculated character assassination will not be countenanced. He should set up his own station and spew crap. He should not hijack what does not belong to him to attack Jerry Rawlings, Zanetor Rawlings and other respected members of society because they do not toe his political line.
For those who think having Paul on their side is a positive they better watch out. He is a reckless loose cannon who is flippant, shallow and hollow. He looks himself in the mirror every day and says to himself I am handsome – all brawn and vain with no brain attached. Sooner than later his antics will rather destroy those who hide behind him to further their shallow political agendas.
Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings is no fluke. She won her seat against all odds, including attempts by some shameless characters in her party to sabotage her and has performed so creditably her constituents are astounded by her sheer energy and commitment to her role. She is above partisanship and has proven that politics is not a shallow and biased process. We are warning Paul Adom Otchere to stay clear. If he’s taken money to attack Zanetor, he better return it!!!!
