Peoples’ Liberation Council writes to Speaker Mike Oquaye over Kan Dapaah’s Statements in Parliament

Attn: The Right Hon. Speaker of Parliament, Prof Aaron Mike Oquaye.

REACTING TO THE MINISTER FOR NATIONAL SECURITY’S REPORT TO PARLIAMENT, IMPLICATING THE PEOPLES’ LIBERATION COUNCIL.

Mr. Speaker,

We are writing to react to a newspaper report purported to have been an information given to the Parliament of Ghana by the Minister for National Security, Hon. Albert Ken Dapaah on Thursday, November 5, 2020, implicating the Peoples’ Liberation Council (PLC).

According to the news paper, “Apart from the already known Homeland Study Group Foundation, Mr. Dapaah said two other gangs called Western Togoland Restoration Front (WTRF) and the People’s Liberation Council (PLC) have joined such criminal course.” Quoted from the website http://opr.news/222d7c65201105en_gh?client=news,

Mr. Speaker,

We wish to draw your attention to the fact that Peoples’ Liberation Council (PLC) of Western Togoland is a legally registered organisation in Ghana with the registration number CG033082018. The organisation is neither a secessionist group, nor has it committed any criminal acts that would justify the criminal label being attached to it by the Hon. Minister, Ken Dapaah.

Should the Parliament of Ghana wish to know more about the Peoples’ Liberation Council (PLC), we would gladly avail ourselves to explain what our organisation stands for.

We are of the hope that our position is understood.

Thank you.

Ben Adeli
