National Security Operatives attack Empowerment Worship Centre?

The operation was embarked by the operatives with the suspicion that the man of God was involved in money laundering. But it is emerging that nothing much came out of that attack.

Some National Security operatives have allegedly attacked the Empowerment Worship Centre and its founder, Prophet Gideon Danso in Accra.

The operation led by one Gerard Nana Osei-Tutu with National Signal Bureau under the National Security Ministry headed by Minister Albert Kan Dapaah was sanctioned by the Deputy National Security Coordinator, Edward Kwaku Asomani.

Some government officials and executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) “are very angry” and are beginning to express fear and equating the activities of the security outfit as becoming one of ‘culture of impunity.

DAYBREAK is reliably informed that it was this same Gerard Nana Osei-Tutu whose men attacked a serving military man at Mitchel Camp in Accra last year ahead of the general elections.

In that operation, it was unclear, what warranted the attack but the soldier was seen in a live video being violently pulled out of his vehicle and taken into a waiting National Security vehicle.

Even though the video went viral especially on social media, no news of the operatives being arrested or interrogated was heard.

This year, the same team attacked one Alice Ofori Atta, a niece of President Akufo-Addo headed by the same Osei Tutu.

Again on May 7, a team of plain-clothed National Security operatives led by DSP Azugu arrived in a Toyota V8 Land Cruiser wielding AK-47 rifles and raided two Chinese-owned Casinos in Asankragua in the Amenfi West constituency.

Again, this operation was under the instructions of the ‘powerful’ Asomani.

Other activities of the operatives include the raid at Adabraka based Citi FM involving Caleb Kudah and Zoe Abu-Baidoo.

These, DAYBREAK has gathered, were all authorized by Mr Asomani on the blind side of the National Security Coordinator Major General Francis Adu-Amanfo.

Edward Kwaku Asomani has been in the news boasting about plans to make him the substantive boss of the National Security.
