PLAYBACK: Speaker apologises to ‘absentee’ NDC MPs

According to NDC MPs, despite being present in the House for parliamentary proceedings on that fateful day, their names were not captured.

The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin has apologised to some eight NDC MPs whose names were omitted from Tuesday’s register.

This follows an accusation by the Minority against the Clerk of Parliament, Cyril Kwabena Nsiah for being extremely partisanship.

According to NDC MPs, despite being present in the House for parliamentary proceedings on that fateful day, their names were not captured.

The MPs including Ablekuma Central MP, Abdul-Latif Dan, raised the issue on the floor of the House on Thursday and added that the development has caused them widespread disaffection.

On Tuesday, MPs from both sides of the political divide were summoned to the Chamber for a crucial vote on the controversial Electronic Transfer Levy (E-Levy) Bill.

But the votes and proceedings for the said day left out the names of those MPs as failing to attend upon sitting.
