I carried you with swollen feet and heartburn,โฃโฃ
ate healthy to help you grow big and strong,โฃโฃ
laughed one second and cried the next,โฃโฃ
and ran to the restroom 50 times a day with restless sleep,โฃโฃ
until you were ready to come into this world,โฃโฃ

And then time froze, as you were placed into my arms,โฃโฃ
my eyes heavy with exhaustion and love,โฃโฃ
and I held your little body and fed you until you gave a little smile and fell asleep on my chest.โฃโฃ
