Police interdict Agordzo for wearing uniform to court

The embattled police officer who is standing trial for treason in the alleged coup plot ACP Dr Benjamin Agordzo has reportedly been interdicted for wearing his uniform to court, Starrfm.com.gh has gathered.

According to police regulations, an officer is not allowed to wear his or her uniform when facing charges in court.

Starr News sources say the decision to interdict the senior officer was taken by the police hierarchy after his first court appearance where he wore the uniform with a UN cap.

ACP Agordzo is expected back in court today after he was denied bail on Tuesday.

When contacted lawyer for ACP Agordzo Martin Kpebu told StarrFM.com.gh that ” I have heard rumours of it but I have not been officially informed”.

After court hearing Tuesday, he told the media he is innocent of the charges against him.

“I have not committed any crime. I’ve done nothing wrong. The President called upon us to be citizens. So when I express my opinion on a WhatsApp platform, unrelated to any alleged coup, nobody should bog me down.

“And I will stand for this. I will stand for this to the end. They cannot break me down at all. And I’m as strong as anything. Thank you very much for your support,” he told the media after he appeared before the court Wednesday.
