Police reschedules meeting with NDC’s Sammy Gyamfi

The police has rescheduled meeting with the National Communication Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi.

The meeting was originally scheduled to take place today, December 23, 2019 but has been moved to Tuesday as a result of an event at the headquarters which involved President Nana Akufo-Addo.

The invitation follows a complaint made to the Ghana Police Service by the seat of government, Jubilee House.

Mr. Gyamfi, who could not honour the invite last Friday, was expected to be present at the Police Headquarters with senior lawyers of the NDC.

They include Lawyer Edudzi Tamakloe, Marrietta Brew Appiah-Oppong, a former Attorney General and some party executives.

Close Associates of the Communications Officer tell Dailymailgh that a court warrant has been issued to seize items belonging to Mr. Gyamfi, including mobile phones as part of police investigations.

Our Correspondent who was monitoring events at the CID Headquarters reported that police officers were stationed at vantage points to quell any eventuality.

NDC supporters in a communique on various social media platforms were asked to throng the CID Headquarters to show their support and solidarity.

The statement also accused President Akufo-Addo of intimidation, harassment and abuse of power.

Most of the supporters who got to the police headquarters earlier were clad in red shirts. Other bigwigs who were also there included Joshua Akamba, Dr. Hannah Bissie, Kakra Essamua, Ako Gunn, Constituency chairmen, national youth organizers.
