A senior official at the Presidency has launched a scathing attack on the New Patriotic Party (NPP) over what he describes as the party’s desperate attempts to mislead the public and undermine the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) government. Gbande Mustapha Gbande, Deputy Director of Operations at the Presidency, ridiculed the NPP’s decision to stage a so-called “True State of the Nation Address” on March 4, 2025, in a bid to counter President John Dramani Mahama’s official State of the Nation Address (SONA) delivered on February 27, 2025.
The NPP has accused President Mahama of ignoring critical national issues and distorting the country’s realities in his address. However, Gbande dismissed these claims as baseless, urging the party to abandon its “reckless arrogance” and apologize to Ghanaians instead of engaging in political theatrics.

“If the NPP were a responsible political party led by competent and visionary leaders, this would be the time for deep reflection, reconnecting with their base, and issuing a sincere apology. But instead, they resort to arrogance, insults, and divisive tactics aimed at destabilizing the country,” Gbande fired.

He further assured that the NDC would not stand by while the opposition engages in what he described as misinformation and deliberate attacks on the government.

Would you like it to be even more aggressive or keep it at this level?
