The legislation comes at a symbolic moment coinciding with the GSA’s 50th anniversary, and reflecting its evolution from the Ghana Shippers’ Council in 1974 to the Ghana Shippers’ Authority in 1998 with a broader mandate.

With this strengthened oversight, the GSA seeks to ensure fairness, transparency in pricing, and efficiency in the shipping and logistics sectors, ultimately enhancing Ghana’s appeal for international trade.
