President Mahama Declares Runaway NSA Officials Wanted! Assets Frozen

President John Dramani Mahama has put the heat on rogue National Service Authority (NSA) officials involved in a shocking payroll scam, who have fled the country, by ordering the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) to track them down urgently.

Not stopping there, the President has also commanded a freeze on their assets until they face the music and investigations are wrapped up.

Speaking boldly during his inaugural State of the Nation Address (SoNA) in Parliament on Thursday, February 27, Mahama outlined his firm stance on tackling corruption with Operation Recover All the Loot policy (ORAL).

The scandal uncovered over 80,000 ghost names on the NSA payroll, with the culprits potentially pocketing a staggering GHc50 million monthly. Mahama didn’t hold back in expressing his outrage at the theft of public funds, vowing no mercy for those responsible.

A slew of arrests, including high-profile figures like Yaw Danso and Kwaku Ohene Gyan, have already been made in connection with the scandal. However, Mahama hinted that more arrests are on the horizon as the authorities dig deeper into the corrupt practices of the NSA.

Former Akufo-Addo government appointee Gifty Oware-Mensah, a key suspect, has been on the lam, sparking a whirlwind of speculation about her whereabouts after a suspicious airport sighting.

This explosive situation has put a spotlight on Mahama’s resolve to cleanse the system of corruption. With a dedicated unit at the presidency and a hotline for reporting corruption, he is leaving no stone unturned in the battle against graft.

The President’s vow to clamp down on corrupt practices extends to proposing a bill to regulate the sale of public lands and state assets, underlining his determination to bring transparency and accountability to the forefront.
