The promotions, made on the advice of the Armed Forces Council, come ahead of the official transition from the outgoing military leadership. The new appointees include:

Major General William Agyapong – Chief of Defence Staff

Major General Lawrence Kwaku Gbetanu – Chief of Army Staff

Rear Admiral Godwin Livinus Bessing – Chief of Naval Staff

In a statement signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, MP, and Spokesperson to the President, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces expressed confidence in the new military leadership.
He urged them to serve with patriotism, unity, and courage in protecting Ghana’s security and sovereignty.
