The Members of Parliament for Mpraeso, Davis Opoku Ansah and Tema Central MP, Yves Hanson Nortey, have denied knowledge of a motion requesting Parliament to probe the death of former President Mills.

According to the two, their signatures were either falsified or forged onto the private member’s motion.

This follows reports that some four Members of Parliament (MPs) from the Majority side of the House have filed a motion requesting parliament to probe the death of late former President John Evans Atta Mills.

The MPs ostensibly led by Majority Chief Whip, Frank Annoh-Dompreh in the motion, are requesting the House to constitute a bi-partisan Committee to unravel the circumstances under which Prof. Mills died on July 24, 2012.

The rest of those said to have filed the Private Members Motion include Second Deputy Majority Whip, Habib Iddrisu, Mpraeso MP, Davis Ansah Poku, and Tema Central MP, Hanson Yves Nii Noi Nortey.

“That, this Honourable House constitutes a bi-partisan Committee; To unravel the unending mystery surrounding the death of late President Mills which sad event occurred on 24th July 2012,” the motion reads.

But less than 24-hours after that news went viral, two out of the four MPs have made startling revelations that they had no prior knowledge of the motion.

This has led to calls for the Nsawam Adoagyiri MP to be hauled to the Privileges Committee for misleading the House and the country.

Sources say the two first-time MPs who are incensed at the development are requesting Parliament to expunge their signatures from the motion.

The attached memo under the signature of the two MPs is currently going round on social media.
