President Mahama inaugurates the Armed Forces Council, with Vice President Prof. Opoku-Agyemang as chairperson.

President John Dramani Mahama will today, March 24, 2025, inaugurate the newly constituted Armed Forces Council to oversee the administration and strategic direction of the Ghana Armed Forces.

The Armed Forces Council is responsible for advising the President on matters relating to defence policy, military administration, and operational readiness.

The Vice President, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, will serve as Chairperson of the Council.

Other members of the Council include:

  1. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah – Member

  2. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa – Member

  3. Mubarak Mohammed Muntaka – Member

  4. Mr. Daniel Addo – Member

  5. Mr. Fuseini Iddrisu – Member

  6. Ms. Nancy Dakwa Ampofo – Member
