QNET reiterates Commitment to Ethical Marketing and Social Responsibility Projects

A global e-Commerce direct selling company, QNET which provides customers around the world with unique and high quality products and services while giving them the opportunity to build a sales business by promoting these products, has assured its numerous distributors and customers across Ghana and the rest of Sub-Saharan Africa that the company remains highly ethical and socially responsible and will continue to provide the general public with its life-changing products and services via its global e-commerce platform.

Direct-Selling is a method of marketing and retailing goods and services directly to the consumers in their homes or in any other location away from permanent retail premises. Such type of sales is largely driven by word-of-mouth referrals. Products sold through direct selling companies have unique features and are exclusive to the company and are not available in malls or similar locations.

The company’s Regional General Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa, Mr. Biram Fall, gave the assurance during a press interaction in Accra on Tuesday. He said the company which started in Hong Kong in 1998, now has a global presence with distributors spanning the Middle East, South and East Asia, Africa, Central Asia and Europe.

According to him, the company’s footprint since its establishment some 23 years ago has helped to develop micro-entrepreneurs in many emerging economies.

“We unite people around the world for better livelihood. Our customers and distributors have become part of a global community helping people take charge of their health, lifestyles and total well-being. Millions of satisfied customers and over a million distributors have transformed their lives with us in the last 20+years, making an impact in more than 100 countries around the world, ” Mr. Fall stated.

Mr. Fall said, as it is common with every company or business sector, there are some challenges with direct selling in general and QNET is not exempted from the general industry issues and challenges. He reiterated that QNET’s business module and the independent representatives that sell the company’s products, are guided by codes of conduct and ethical requirements.

Ms. Maxime Peti, Sub Saharan Africa regional Public Relations Manager of QNET said the company is different in nature and in its operations unlike some businesses which operate Ponzi schemes.

Ms. Peti said the company operates a legitimate e-commerce business and deals in wide range of high quality products and services including watches and jewelry, health and personal care products, wellness products, among others and they are available on the company’s e-commerce platform www.qnet.net.

The company, according to her, engages in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects in 35 cities across the globe as well as humanitarian services, all aimed at putting smiles on the faces of the underprivileged in society.

Ms. Peti said the company which prides itself in the core values of Integrity, Service, Sustainability and Leadership, believes in building the capacities of its distributors (independent representatives, IRs) and so, regularly organizes in-service trainings and workshops for them to become ethical, confident and resourceful marketing professionals. She mentioned the lack of legislation, misconception of direct selling, compliance and misconduct as some of the challenges facing their operations in Africa and by large, the operations of many other direct selling companies in the region.

The Project also encourages them to enroll in school or remain active with their academics.
