Randy Abbey grabs top post in Mahama’s Government; named as CEO of COCOBOD

President John Mahama congratulated Dr. Abbey on his new role and wished him success, expressing confidence in his ability to steer the institution effectively.

President John Mahama has appointed Dr Ransford Anertey Abbey  as the acting CEO of the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD).

This is contained in a  a letter dated January 21, 2025, in accordance with Article 195(1) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 12(2) of the Ghana Cocoa Board Act, 1984 (P.N.D.C.L. 81).

“Dr. Abbey’s appointment is effective immediately and will remain in place pending the constitutionally required advice of the COCOBOD Board, in consultation with the Public Services Commission.”
