Recommend qualified candidates to ensure more slots-Ghana HR coordinators told

Commercial Counselor at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China Chai Zhijing has suggested to Ghanaian human resource coordinators of Chinese to recommend only qualified candidates for various Chinese scholarships.

Chai Zhijing noted that the number of scholarships awarded by the Chinese government to various beneficiary countries is limited and without specific quotas, thus making it very competitive.
In light of the above, he urged the coordinators from Ghana to recommend qualified and deserving candidates for various training programmes and scholarships at an early date to ensure Ghana secure more slots.
Mr. Zhijing made this observation at an event in Accra to review the year 2019 Human Resource development cooperation between China and Ghana, and also discuss plans for the year 2020.
He said China would continue to contribute towards human resource development in Ghana because it falls in line with the Chinese Government’s agenda, to share its experiences in socio-economic development with Ghana.
According to him, the government of China, mainly sought to contribute towards the creation of an atmosphere that ensured that cooperation offered equal potential of gain for the two countries.
Mr Zhijing said one means of ensuring that was to contribute towards the empowerment of the human resource base of Ghana, which China was currently doing.
He said the Chinese government was also encouraging Chinese companies to make more investments in Ghana, towards increased mutual gains for the two countries.
He also noted that 2020 would mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relationship between China and Ghana.
In order to celebrate this important occasion, he said the Chinese side, in collaboration with its counterparts, would try to make good use and further expand the scale of bilateral human resource development cooperation.
Chief Director, Head of civil Service, Ghana, Mr. Godwin Brocke, presented a plaque to Mr. Chai, in recognition of the Chinese Embassy’s contribution towards human resource development within the Civil Service.
He said the Service served as the administrative arm of government, and thus found the Chinese Embassy’s training programs very important.
