The Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, has been urged to urgently initiate the transfer of the Eastern North Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Mr. Isaac Asante, to protect the peace and stability of Kwahu.

Her Royal Majesty Nana Adwoa Gyamfua III, the Okwahuhemaa, made the call while addressing the Chiefs and elders of Kwahuman during the first Akwasidae observation of Daasebre Akuamoah Boateng III as Kwahuhene at the Mampong Agyei’s Palace in Abene. She lamented the unprofessional conduct of the Eastern North Regional Commander, who she accused of supporting the embattled Daasebre Akuamoah Agyepong II, who she claimed had been destooled to destabilize Kwahu’s peace.

Okwahuhemaa stated, “If the Inspector General of Police and the Interior Minister can hear my voice, I humbly request that they urgently remove their Regional Commander at Mpraeso. His actions clearly show a divisive nature, which we are not prepared to tolerate.”

She emphasized that the people of Kwahu are peace-loving and committed to the development of their communities. “We channel our strength and energy into developing our areas and will not risk the peace of Kwahu due to the selfish interests of others, as displayed by the commander,” she added.

DCOP Isaac Asante has faced criticism for allegedly deploying over 200 police officers to protect Daasebre Akuamoah Agyepong II, who is said to have secretly entered the Kwahuhene’s palace despite being destooled and the police being informed.

The Okwahuhemaa reiterated, “Abene and Kwahu do not belong to Kwasi Boadi, formerly known as Daasebre Akuamoah Agyepong II. He has been Kwahuhene since 2017, but what development has he brought to Kwahu, apart from fostering conflicts among chiefs, disrespect for customs and traditions, and his self-centered pursuit of personal gain?”

She once again urged the Regional Commander to recognize that Kwasi Boadi is no longer Kwahuhene and reassured her subjects, both home and abroad, to remain calm, assuring them that Kwahu is in the process of restoring the leadership that the people of Kwahu deserve.
