The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua Frimpong, has issued a memo to all former regional and constituency executives to, within one week, return all official party vehicles and other assets in their possession.

According to reports, some of these former executives are holding on to assets in their custody.

The situation is said to have necessitated a National Steering Committee meeting, which decided that all assets still in possession of former executives “should be returned to the respective Regional and Constituency Party Executive Committees”.

According to the memo dated Tuesday, August 2, 2022, “the unavailability of these assets has rendered the newly elected executives of the Party handicapped in the performance of their duties, which development is adversely impacting the conduct of Party activities”.

The General Secretary was, therefore, instructed by the National Steering Committee to write to all former executives to return the properties within one week.

“As has been the norm, executives are permitted to use assets of the Party but cannot assume ownership of same upon leaving office.

“In the light of the foregoing, the Party is by this notice, giving a one-week ultimatum to all such former executives to comply with this directive.”

Current regional executives have been entreated to supervise the retrieval of assets from former constituency executives while the National Treasurer will supervise that at the regional levels.
