The Return of Mahama would be economically disastrous for Ghana – DCE

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Bosome Freho Assembly in the Ashanti Region, Hon. Yaw Danso has posited that the second coming of former President John Dramani Mahama would be an ‘economic disaster’ should Ghanaians pay heed to the deceitful tongues of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and vote John Dramani Mahama into power.

The DCE who was reacting to the manifesto and the mouth-watering promises made by the NDC during their manifesto launch told Ghananewsonline.com.gh in an interview that the manifesto is an empty one which cannot help in the nation’s development.

According to him, Ghanaians, during the administration of John Dramani Mahama led NDC government faced serious economic hardships which brought the country’s economy to a standstill. He reminded the country of the famous erratic power supply popularly known as dumsor as well as the depreciation of the Ghana cedis, among others.

He observed that the country was then ruled by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as they virtually dictated what the nation should do and not to do.

“We were in this country when the NDC government sold the country to the IMF for some little money, we were told to freeze employment into the public sector, and it was during these time that the country saw the formation of coalition of unemployed unions including the Unposted Nursing and Midwifery Graduates, Graduate Unemployed Association, the NDC flagbearer sold the country’s mineral resources to his brother Ibrahim Mahama at the expense of the country”, he stated.

To him, God has blessed Ghana with capable leaders such as President Akufo-Addo and Alhaji Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia his Vice, describing them as the messiahs of the country. He said the great policies being implemented by the NPP government has totally transformed the country.

He urged supporters of the ruling NPP to start preaching the good news according to the social intervention policies being introduced including the free senior high school policy which has seen some 1.2 million basic school students gaining admission into the senior high School, Planting for food and jobs, rearing for food and jobs and planting for export and rural development which has boosted the agriculture sector.

“The One million dollars per Constituency has also improved the standard of social amenities in our society among other great policies.”

He charged the party, especially the Ashanti Region Patriots to campaign tirelessly to retain power as the nation approaches elections 2020 to consolidate the gains made by the NPP government.

“This year’s election is not about an individual but it is about our nation Ghana. It is not for my interest and the NPP members but it is about the future of our mother Ghana,” he stated.
