Return of State Lands to Original Land Owners: Stop Bigoted Comments

There is a very stupid group of people who think the State Lands should not be returned to the Original Owners as the framers of the Constitution stated in Article 20 when the purpose changes or period of acquisition expires.

How can Government get land when it takes land from the Original Owners and refuses to return it after the period ends?

Why will any Land Owner give Government any land, when Government claims it needs the land for a particular purpose e.g. Agenda 111 Hospital but rather uses the land for an entirely different purpose e.g. allocate it to cronies for Apartments or give it to well-connected private persons to collect loans to capitalise their private businesses?

There is a very stupid group of people who think the State Lands should not be returned to the Original Owners as the framers of the Constitution stated in Article 20 when the purpose changes or period of acquisition expires.

The bigots [not idiots] who think the people of the Capital Region of Ghana, do not deserve to be given their lands back, because some greedy politicians and their cronies are stealing the Lands;

These bigots will not say the same, if the Lands to be returned were to be given to Chiefs in other parts of Ghana or to foreign embassies.

These bigots think it is not a big deal, if the People of Accra are made Landless.

As Ghanaians, either we all agree that all Lands in Ghana are taken over by the State or those taken by the State for particular purposes or for specific durations must be returned to the Original Land Owners upon the duration of the period, change of purpose or failure to pay fair and adequate compensation as required by law or the Constitution.

Equity interest in lieu of compensation must accrue to the Original Land Owners in the event that the land is used for building a commercial property.

If politicians are stealing State Acquired Lands, why should the Original Land Owners lose their lands in perpetuity?

Investigate, arrest, and prosecute the thieves.

The knee-jerk Statements from so-called Civil Society Organizations and some myopic politicians on the emotive land issue must stop.

All documentation on all the State Acquired Lands must be made public.

Transparency and Accountability are demanded of all Land transactions…

…the Government must therefore publish all relevant documents on the various State acquired Lands…

Ghanaians are resolved to be Citizens and not Spectators.

God Save Our Homeland Ghana from the cartels who connive with successive Governments of Ghana to steal lands.
