Road Diversion Announced as Repairs on Atomic Bridge Starts
The work will take place in the next 20 days daily from 8:00 pm to 6:00 am except for Sundays when the section being worked on will be closed to traffic.
The Ministry of Roads and Highways has announced the commencement of repair works on the Atomic Bridge along the Accra-Madina Highway.
The work starts on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at 8:00 pm.
In a press statement, the Ministry said, “The Bridge Management Unit (BMU) of the Ghana Highway Authority will be working on the expansion joints, with 26 joints in total, 13 on each bridge.”
The work will take place in the next 20 days daily from 8:00 pm to 6:00 am except for Sundays when the section being worked on will be closed to traffic.
“The work will start on the Accra-bound bridge for the first 10 days and then move to the Madina-bound bridge for the remaining 10 days. Traffic will be diverted to the ground level of the bridge during this time.”
It comes after Ing. Aaron Nana Amponsah, Project Manager of the Bridge Management Unit and the sector Minister, Hon Francis Asenso-Boakye inspected the bridge.
