S/R: Regional Minister Visits Project Sites In Daboya

The Savannah Regional Minister, Hon. Adam Salifu Braimah has visited the project site of the Regional Health Directorate situated in Daboya in the North Gonja District of the Savannah Region.

The project which has an office complex directly opposite the North Gonja District Assembly and staff bungalows is being undertaken by Greensap Construction Ltd, a building contractor based in Accra.

Speaking to the media at the site, the foreman of Greensap Construction Limited, Mr. Ibrahim Amadu said the project is expected to be completed within eight (8) months and handed over to the government.

Hon. Adam Salifu Braimah who was happy with the rate at which work is progressing at the site praised the contractor for the work done so far and assured the people of the district that the creation of the Savannah Region is to enhance equitable distribution of development across the region.

He said the committee that sent the petition to the President for the creation of the region included discentralisation of government agencies to enhance development which initially saw Daboya benefiting from the roads ministry but later changed to the Regional Health Directorate.

The Savannah Regional Minister said the agencies that is coming to the region are seventeen (17) in number but for now the construction of four (4) agencies is underway in the new region.

The Savannah Regional Chairman for the NPP, Alhaji Yussif Sulemana a.k.a Professor Kalamonia who was part of the minster’s team said all the people doubting the NPP government should visit the various areas to see things for themselves. He said the youth of Daboya are employed and engaged in the construction work and making a living out of that which many of them will eventually vote for the NPP.

He, therefore, urged everybody in the region to vote for the NPP for more development.

The team further visited Disah, a farming community on the way to Mankarigu where a bridge is under construction to link the community to Daboya.

The community is usually cut off during the raining season which prevents residence of the community from visiting Daboya.

The contractor of the Bridge LAMERICA Construction Limited in a short briefing told the minister and his team that a total of seven (7) bridges are expected to be constructed on the Daboya-Mankarigu road which has the contractor back on site.

The minister said he was happy once again seeing what is ongoing and recalled how he and his team had to move back to Damongo during the raining season after trying to cross Lukula during the clashes in that area and said further that the construction of the road will make it very possible for easy access to the Mankarigu areas.

Meanwhile, the Bishop of Damongo Diocese in the Savannah Region Most Rev. Peter Paul Yelzuome Angkyier has said that the issue of citing the regional offices across the various districts in Savannah Region from his personal observation will create permanent enmity in the region.
