The chiefs and people of Mampong Akwapim have indicated their readiness to support Sammi Awuku should he nurture the idea to contest for a Parliamentary seat of the area.
They said, although Sammi Awuku has not told them anything regarding that ambition yet, they as chiefs are ready to off their cloth and support him.
According to the Mampong Akwapim Traditional council, they have no idea if their son, Sammi Awuku, will have an interest in becoming an MP, but if he did have such interest, they will remove their cloth and support him.
In an interview with the media the Apesemakahene of Mampong Akwapim, Nana Yirenkyi l, who is the official Spokesperson for the town noted that “for now we are not aware of anything but if he wants it we will help him.”
According to him, Sammi Awuku has done a lot for Akwapim, and all the chiefs and the people have accepted him.
“Any day our son will tell us he wants to be an MP, expect all the chiefs to campaigning for him.”
He said Since Sammi Awuku came to politics there are lot of people in Akwapim who have benefitted from him and every town in Akwapim North can testify to that.
“We are waiting that one day he will decide and when he does, we will support him.” Nana Yirenkyi stated.
