Sammi Awuku’s baseless Allegation against the NDC and Chiefs is Disrespectful and Distasteful – Kevin Taylor
For Sammi Awuku who is the national organizer of the ruling party NPP to say NDC is inciting chiefs against the electoral commission of Ghana is very disrespectful and distasteful. I believe he must be called to the National house of chiefs to apologize immediately.
Is Sammi Awuku trying to say the CSO’s that petitioned Otumfuo Osei Tutu incited otumfuo against the EC? Is Sammy Awuku also trying to say our respected chiefs can not make their own decisions as leaders and that they only act on the advise of the ndc? I believe this is disrespectful and insist the national organizer of the npp and npp as a political party MUST immediately come out and apologize to the National house of chiefs, the good people of Ghana and also OTUMFUO OSEI TUTU and the Ashanti kingdom as a matter of urgency.
We can not allow young politicians and political parties to disrespect our chiefs who have done everything in their capacity to hold the democracy of this nation together. Chiefs in Ghana are respected not just because they are chiefs but because God, the constitution and we the people believe in their wisdom and leadership. Sammy Awuku can never hide behind a political party like the npp and disrespect our chiefs. As a royal I believe his statement is disrespectful, disgusting, unintelligent, demeaning and divisive to say the least.
This is the time Ghana need intelligent politicians to speak with wisdom to bring us together as a nation because Ghana today is intertwined in tension all because of the actions of the electoral commission. If the npp which I belong to respects our chiefs we must and I repeat we must come out and apologize to the nation and also must apologize to the house of chiefs.
There is this old wise saying and it goes “He that beats the drum for the mad man to dance is no better than the mad man himself”. If the npp does not want to be seen as a divisive party, a party that encourages disrespect of our chiefs and Ghanaian they should immediately apologize to chiefs in Ghana and Ghanaians.
