Sammy Gyamfi left in the cold as NDC ‘SHAMELESSLY’ return to Peace FM and Asaase Radio

28 months ago, Sammy Gyamfi announced that all Communicators, Media Monitors, Members, and Officials of the NDC were banned from Asaase Radio and later Peace FM after the Production Team failed to take away Allotey Jacobs, a former Central Regional Chairman of the party who is now sacked.

The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has surreptitiously beaten a retreat over a boycott of top-rated media houses, Peace FM and Asaase Radio after more than 28 months of boycott.

Several persons took to social media to lambast National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress(NDC) Sammy Gyamfi after he ordered party communicators to boycott Peace FM’s Morning Show, Kokrokoo more than two years ago.

This was after General Secretary of the NDC Johnson Asiedu Nketia appeared on the show last week in direct contravention of the party.

The appearance signalled an end of the boycott of the show.

Also, Deputy Minority Leader James Klutse Avedzi was on Asaase Radio for an extensive in-studio interview paving the way for other Communicators to follow sui

Sammy Gyamfi said NDC will continue to refuse any invitations and/or interviews from the said Kokrokoo, until the station “addresses our concerns and reviews their unfair paneling system”.

“All efforts to get the Producers and Host of the program to give us a fair representation on the show over the past eight (8) months, including a complaint to the Management of the station for an amicable resolution of this matter, have proven futile, as the party continues to be treated with utmost contempt.” He added.

But Asiedu Nketia made an appearance on the show on Friday, August 12, 2022 after more than two years of the party’s non-appearance.

On Asaase Radio, in addition to James Avedzi, several other party members have defied the party and appeared on the show.

Prof. Ransford Gyampo late last year advised the Management of Asaase Radio to enter into talks with the NDC to end the boycott because it is hurting the station.

Unlike Peace FM’s Kokrokoo, the NDC boycott of Asaase is in protest over the closure of Radio Gold and Montie FM, appendages of the NDC.

The NDC allegedly used the Ministerial vetting of Akufo-Addo’s appointees to negotiate for the reopening of Radio Gold, the release of Abuga Pele, among other demands.
