Scam alert: Payment of allowances or whatever to the wives of the Presidents and Vice Presidents of Ghana – The unanswered questions…!
Folks, high-tension concern about this issue is still dominant in public discourse about the thieving and murderous dissipation of public funds by this useless Akufo-Addo government.
And Ghanaian journalists are so lazy as not to do anything to help the poor tax payers come to grips with the issue. Damn them, conscienceless irritants!!
How many wives of Ghanaian Presidents or their vices have benefitted from this wayward windfall that they can’t investigate and tell the whole world?
Apart from Kufuor and Mahama, the husbands of these so-called wives are gone to the land of no return. Akufo-Addo and Bawumia are on the horizon, fooling around. Their wives are in the news for the wrong reason because Akufo-Addo has chosen to misbehave with the tax payers’ blood, sweat, and livelihood.
How difficult is it for a right-thinking journalist to interview these former first or second ladies about the issue, even as they circle around to land on Rebecca Akufo-Addo and Samira?
Beyond it all, the pinpointed issue should be about whether those who have lost their husbands are still being paid whatever might be due their deceased husbands.
I recall the example of Rawlings who shouted all over the landscape that the Kufuor administration was trying to imprecate and implicate him in a crime by depositing over 600 million Cedis in his account at the Ghana Commercial Bank in Accra Central many years ago.
When the government cleared the air and Rawlings went for that money, he never came back to bare his fangs to bite Kufuor.
When public anger at the quantum of money that Nigeria’s monster (General Sani Abacha) gave him cropped up, he denied it, only to concede many years thereafter.
And the Nigerian leaders were either complicit or bemused and stupid enough not to force for the money to be retrieved. What Rawlings used (or misused) that money for is not known.
Let me land. Has Nana Konadu had access to that money? If yes, why so? She must be made to cough it out by any means possible.
Then, the chiefs and people of Nsawam and Adoagyiri must make decisive moves to regain their land that she misappropriated and forcibly took away from them, riding on the crest of her husband’s strength in Ghanaian politics at the time. Rawlings is gone to the land of no return. She has nothing to stand on any more and must be held tight to principles of probity and accountability.
Furthermore, let me be troublesome here. Anybody with an acute mind who watched the video recording of the visit by Team Akufo-Addo to the Rawlingses’ residence to commiserate with them when Rawlings passed on can’t miss the demeanour of Nana Konadu suggesting a plea for “something” that her body language exposed as she beckoned to Akufo-Addo. A quick mind saw it all. What was she pleading for?
It was a matter of facial expression and a plea for something being requested to be done to save her. Folks, go back to watch the video and be informed. And she has gone underground ever since. Why so, after all the scorn that she had heaped on Akufo-Addo before his rise to prominence to make or unmake her and her deceased husband?
At any rate, the point is clear. Are these so-called wives of the so-called leaders being given free money at the expense of the suffering Ghanaians who cannot make ends meet? And are they able to access the vault where their loot of stolen public money is kept?
Indeed, Ghana stinks!!
