Scandal: Allegations of Electoral Manipulation and Corruption Rock Osafo Maafo’s Son and Chief Justice’s Security Chief
The allegations extend beyond electoral fraud. Kelvin Taylor claims that Ben Ansah has been involved in the abduction of individuals like Bongo Ideas, with plans to eliminate dissenting voices.
Accusations have emerged against two high-ranking officials, Kwadwo Osafo Maafo and Ben Ansah, who have been labeled as “Enemies of the State” by Kelvin Taylor, the vocal critic and host of Loud Silence TV. Taylor’s Facebook post alleges severe misconduct and criminal activities aimed at undermining Ghana’s democratic processes.
Kwadwo Osafo Maafo, currently serving as the Director of Cyber Security at the National Communications Authority (NCA), is accused of playing a central role in manipulating electoral results. Kwadwo Osafo Maafo, the son of prominent Ghanaian politician Yaw Osafo Maafo, is alleged to have collaborated with Ben Ansah and others to alter election outcomes in favor of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) during the 2020 elections.
Ben Ansah, the head of security for the Judicial Service and the Chief Justice, is accused of various criminal activities, including selling exam questions for prospective Ghana law school students and blackmailing judges with recorded private conversations. Ansah, who previously worked as a driver for Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, now allegedly uses his position to influence judicial decisions through coercion and intimidation.
According to Kelvin Taylor, during the 2020 elections, the introduction of Regional Collation Centers allowed these individuals to intercept and modify election results before they reached the national collation center. This alleged manipulation was conducted under the direction of Joe Anokye, the NCA boss, which Taylor claims was the reason behind the Electoral Commission’s (EC) inconsistencies in the presidential election results.
The allegations extend beyond electoral fraud. Kelvin Taylor claims that Ben Ansah has been involved in the abduction of individuals like Bongo Ideas, with plans to eliminate dissenting voices. Additionally, both Kwadwo Maafo and Ben Ansah are accused of using private recordings to blackmail influential figures, including judges and pastors, to suppress criticism of the NPP government.
In a particularly alarming revelation, Taylor asserts that Ben Ansah is planning to relocate his family to the United States by October this year, indicating potential preparations for further interference in the upcoming elections. Kelvin Taylor states that evidence of Ansah’s criminal activities will be sent to the FBI and relevant American authorities for investigation.
Kelvin Taylor also mentioned that a petition has been submitted to the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) regarding Kwadwo Osafo Maafo’s alleged misuse of his certification for illicit activities in Ghana.
These explosive allegations have stirred significant controversy and concern among Ghanaians, prompting calls for thorough investigations and accountability. The accusations, if proven true, highlight severe vulnerabilities in Ghana’s electoral and judicial systems, with far-reaching implications for the country’s democracy.
As the situation unfolds, Ghanaians are urged to remain vigilant and proactive in safeguarding their democratic processes. Kelvin Taylor and his Loud Silence TV have promised to release more information in the coming days, potentially unveiling further details about the alleged conspiracies and misconduct.
