INDUSTRIALISTS AND former Member of Parliament (MP) for Nkawkaw, Seth Adjei-Baah (popularly called Shaaba) has hinted on recontestlng the seat after It was snatched from him by the current MP, Bryan Acheampong.
Bryan Acheampong who rode on the back of the now ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to defeat Shaaba.
Whatsup News gathered that the return may be due to the belief since he lost the Nkawkaw seat, the constituency has not experienced much needed socio-economic progress under the new MP.
Adjei Baah, who was the MP between 2009 and 2013 is a staunch member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), but run for that year’s election as an independent candidate and swept the votes.
He was also a key member of the Nana Akufo-Addo’s 2012 Presidential campaign and was in charge of logistics. He is said to have used his influence to attract significant development to Nkawkaw. He is currently without any position in the new NPP administration.
It is unclear if this is a key driver to his planned return to con test the seat or just a mere wish to drive development in his constituency. It is also not clear if he would stand on NPP’s ticket or go into the contest again as an independent candidate.
